Comment: blowing the dust of the old vinyl, still trying to figure out who was the best US guitar player, Frank Zappa, Albert Lee or John. It's absolutely amazing that there is still a site devoted to John and QMS.

Comment: John had a sound that filled our minds. The soundtrack of hippie counterculture.  Living and expressing the worldwide enlightenment.  What an artful player!

Comment: Without a doubt John was on of the major influences of the San Francisco sound. His attack on songs like Who Do You Love, was mesmerizing. He time was all to short on this planet.

John you will always be missed by those who knew your work.!!!!!!   JFH......

Comment: I first became aware of John through Quicksilver & had the good fortune to see him perform with Zero several times. No one had John's unique sound. He was taken far too soon.

Comment: I'm nearly 60 years old and remember listening to Quicksilver when I was a kid. I remember the Happy Trails album in 1969 or 70. I idolized John's ability to produce such clarity within a kalidiscope of sound. They were my favorite band for years.
Later on, I moved to the SF Bay Area and I got to see the Dinosaurs play a number of times in small venues. It was amazing,, so many of my musical heroes in one place.

I want to buy this 3 DVD set and play if for my 13 year old son,, I think he'd love it,,, John's music is timeless and it needs to be passed on to the coming generations.

We started the above format for John's Guestbook on June 22, 2005.
